LXR Hotels and Resorts is one of Hilton’s 3 luxury brands, alongside Waldorf Astoria and Conrad. It is a collection of independent luxury hotels, each keeping its own name and character while giving you Hilton Honors points and status. Hilton lists 17 open hotels across 9 countries and territories, from the historic Arizona Biltmore to a design retreat outside Kyoto, with 25 more in development. Here is what the brand is and how it earns and burns points.

The verdict
LXR is the pick when you want a one-of-a-kind luxury hotel but still want your stay to earn and count toward Hilton status. Each property feels independent, and a few of them, like the Arizona Biltmore, price better on points than a comparable Waldorf. The catch is consistency. Because every LXR is its own hotel, service and value vary more than at a standardized brand. Read the individual reviews before you book.
What LXR is
LXR is a soft-branded collection. Hilton keeps each hotel’s identity intact instead of stamping a single look across the portfolio, so an LXR in Paris looks nothing like an LXR in Doha. What they share is a luxury standard and full Hilton Honors participation: you earn points, use your elite benefits, and can redeem free nights. It sits at the same luxury tier as Waldorf Astoria in the Hilton hierarchy.
Who it suits
Book LXR if you like distinctive, independent hotels and you do not want to give up points and status to stay in one. It fits travelers who find big luxury brands a bit samey. Gold and Diamond members get the daily food and beverage credit at LXR hotels in the United States, continental breakfast elsewhere, and space-available upgrades either way. If you want a more predictable luxury experience, compare it with my Waldorf Astoria review.
Standout LXR properties
These are the LXR hotels I would book first:
Arizona Biltmore
A 1929 Frank Lloyd Wright-influenced landmark in Phoenix with 8 pools and desert gardens. Often the most attainable LXR on points. Read the Arizona Biltmore review.
Roku Kyoto
A design retreat at the foot of the mountains north of Kyoto, with an onsen and forest views. Read the Roku Kyoto review.
Zemi Beach House, Anguilla

A Caribbean beach resort with a Thai spa on one of Anguilla’s best beaches. Read the Zemi Beach House review.
Crockfords Las Vegas and Sax Paris
Crockfords is the ultra-luxury tower inside Resorts World on the Las Vegas Strip. The Sax Paris is a jazz-themed design hotel in the 16th arrondissement. 2 very different takes on the same brand.

Points value: what an LXR night costs
LXR uses Hilton’s demand-based award pricing, so rates run high and vary by property. Expect roughly 80,000 to 130,000 points per night at most LXR hotels, with the Arizona Biltmore and a few others landing lower. The 5th night free benefit applies on award stays of 5 nights. Run the numbers in my Hilton points value guide before booking.
How many LXR hotels there are
Hilton’s own fact sheet puts LXR at 17 open hotels across 9 countries and territories, 2,825 rooms in total, with 25 more in development (Hilton newsroom LXR fact sheet, August 2026, retrieved August 20, 2026). That makes it the smallest of the 3 luxury brands by a wide margin. Waldorf Astoria is at 40 hotels in 22 countries.
The pipeline is where the brand changes shape. The Den Bengaluru and The Mangroves Abu Dhabi are the near-term additions, with Casa Alba in Casablanca and the Grand Hotel Gardone on Lake Garda further out (hilton.com, retrieved August 20, 2026). Doha alone carries 3 LXR hotels, which tells you where the brand has found owners willing to fund a one-off luxury build.
What Hilton Honors status actually gets you at an LXR
One correction, because it is the thing people get wrong when they book. At LXR hotels in the United States, Gold and Diamond members receive the daily food and beverage credit, not a complimentary breakfast buffet. The credit runs $10 to $25 a night depending on hotel and market, covers the member and 1 guest, and can be spent at any outlet on property (Hilton newsroom, June 28, 2021, retrieved August 20, 2026).
Outside the United States the benefit is continental breakfast for the member and 1 guest (hilton.com Hilton Honors member benefits, retrieved August 20, 2026). At an LXR in Doha or Kyoto that is worth more than the US credit, because luxury breakfast in those markets runs past $25 a head on its own.
The rest of the package is standard. Diamond gets space-available upgrades up to a 1-bedroom suite, Gold up to Executive floor room types, and late checkout is on request at every tier. The fifth night free on all-points award stays starts at Silver, and at LXR award rates that one benefit is the biggest single discount available on the brand.
Where LXR sits against Waldorf Astoria and Conrad
Size is the clearest difference. LXR has 17 open hotels. Waldorf Astoria has 40 across 22 countries and Conrad is larger again. If you want a luxury Hilton in one specific city, LXR most likely does not have one there.
Consistency is the second. Waldorf Astoria published a brand repositioning in July 2025 built on destination-driven design, culinary innovation and cultural legacy, applied as standards across the portfolio (Hilton newsroom, July 15, 2025, retrieved August 20, 2026). LXR is built the other way round on purpose. Each hotel keeps its own operating character, so the floor and the ceiling sit further apart.
Price is the third. A Waldorf flagship at 90,000 to 150,000 points a night is a different budget from the Arizona Biltmore, which has been the most attainable LXR on points for several years running. Read the individual property review before you let the brand tier set your expectations.
Which LXR to book first
If this is your first LXR and you are paying points, start with the Arizona Biltmore. It prices lower than the rest of the brand, it is easy to reach, and the property carries enough history to show you what Hilton means by a one-of-a-kind hotel.
If you are paying cash for a short city trip, Crockfords Las Vegas and the SAX Paris are the 2 that reward a 2-night stay, because both sit inside a larger complex you would want to be in anyway.
If the trip is the point, Roku Kyoto and Zemi Beach House are the 2 that justify a long flight, and both are the kind of stay where the fifth night free changes the math on a week.
