Why Senna House Scottsdale matters for Hilton members
Senna House Scottsdale is one of the few Curio Collection properties in Old Town and a boutique alternative to the big desert resorts. If you want to spend or earn Hilton points within walking distance of Scottsdale’s galleries and nightlife, this is the property that delivers it.
It is new, which matters. Senna House Scottsdale opened recently, so the rooms, the rooftop pool, and the dining are current, and the desert-modern design gives it a sense of place that a chain hotel in the area cannot match.
Location is the draw. The hotel sits on East Camelback Road in Old Town, a short walk from the Scottsdale Arts District, the restaurants and bars of Old Town, and Scottsdale Stadium, the spring training home that fills the town in March. You can park once and walk most of an Old Town trip.
For points travelers, the value case flips with the seasons. Summer cash rates fall in the heat, award nights run in a reasonable range, and you get a boutique Curio with a rooftop pool that a limited-service Hilton cannot offer. In the high winter season, points stretch furthest against the steep cash rates.

History and architecture, briefly

Senna House Scottsdale opened recently as a new boutique hotel in Old Town, a part of Scottsdale better known for its galleries and nightlife than for lifestyle hotels. It was built new, with a desert-modern design and a rooftop pool meant to lean into the Scottsdale lifestyle.
The hotel sits in central Old Town, walkable to the arts district and the dining and bar scene, and a short distance from Scottsdale Stadium and the wider resort corridor. That central position is the identity of Senna House Scottsdale.
The rooftop pool, CALA, and the marketplace were all designed into the property from the start.
As a Curio Collection property, Senna House Scottsdale puts a boutique Old Town stay inside the Hilton Honors program. That combination, a new lifestyle hotel with a rooftop pool and Hilton points earning, is why it stands out among the area’s lodging.
Senna House Scottsdale rooms: book these, skip these
The upper-floor rooms and the suites are the ones to chase, and the rooms facing Old Town can be livelier on weekend nights. Book direct and ask for a higher floor when you reserve.
Book
- Upper-floor king. A higher floor gets you the best light and mountain or Old Town views, plus the quietest location above the street activity. Book direct and request an upper floor at Senna House Scottsdale.
- Suite for a longer stay. The suites add sitting space for a winter getaway or a longer trip, and they are the best use of a Diamond suite upgrade if one clears on a quieter date.
- Room near the rooftop pool floor. A room on an upper floor near the Sonora Swim Club rooftop gets you the best access to the pool and the views. Request it at check-in.
Skip
- Street-facing lower rooms on weekend nights. Old Town Scottsdale’s nightlife is loud on weekends. Light sleepers should ask for a higher floor or a room away from the street.
- Lowest-rate room on a 2-night stay. The base rooms are fine for a night, but on a longer stay the extra space or a view room is worth it at Senna House Scottsdale.
- Opaque third-party inventory. The room may be cheaper, and it arrives with no points, no elite benefits and no floor and view request attached. Book direct.
Dining at Senna House Scottsdale

Senna House Scottsdale keeps its dining on site and lifestyle-driven, led by a Mediterranean restaurant and a rooftop pool lounge, with all of Old Town’s restaurants a short walk away.
- CALA. The Mediterranean restaurant, with seasonal dishes and brunch built on local ingredients. It handles the Diamond food and beverage credit and is the main sit-down option at Senna House Scottsdale.
- Sonora Swim Club. The rooftop pool lounge, open early and late for poolside food and cocktails with mountain views. It is the signature scene at the hotel and the spot for an afternoon by the water.
- Bodega Marketplace. The grab-and-go marketplace for snacks, coffee, and drinks anytime, useful for a quick start before a day in Old Town.
Breakfast is not bundled into the rate, so Diamond and Gold members should put the daily food and beverage credit toward CALA or the Bodega. 2 nights of the credit buys a light breakfast for 2.
If you want more range, Old Town Scottsdale puts dozens of restaurants and bars within a short walk of Senna House Scottsdale, which is one of the advantages of the location.
Worth knowing: CALA is the restaurant and Sonora Swim Club is the rooftop pool scene. Plan a poolside afternoon, and lean on Old Town for dinner variety across a longer stay.
Hilton Honors strategy at Senna House Scottsdale
| Season | Cash rate | Award nights | Aspire cert value | What to book |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Summer low (Jun to Aug) | $140 to $220 | 60,000 to 70,000 | $140 to $220 | Pay cash; rates are soft |
| Fall shoulder (Sep to Nov) | $220 to $340 | 70,000 to 82,000 | $220 to $340 | Cash or cert, your call |
| Winter and spring high | $350 to $550+ | 82,000 to 95,000+ | $350 to $550+ | Use points or the Aspire cert |
| Spring training and event weekends | $550+ | often limited | limited | Book early or move dates |
Cash rates by season
Cash rates at Senna House Scottsdale flip with the desert seasons. Scottsdale is cheap in the brutal summer heat and expensive in the winter and spring when the weather is perfect and the snowbirds and spring-training crowds arrive.
- Summer, June to August: roughly $140 to $220 a night, the softest stretch in the desert heat and the best time to pay cash if you can take the temperatures.
- Fall shoulder, September to November: roughly $220 to $340, with cooling weather and rising demand.
- Winter and spring high, December to April: $350 to $550 or more, the peak season when perfect weather and events fill Scottsdale.
- Spring training and event weekends: spring training, the WM Phoenix Open, and Barrett-Jackson can push rates past $550 with little notice, so book those dates well ahead.
Award rates and Aspire/Surpass certificate value
Award nights at Senna House Scottsdale run roughly 60,000 to 95,000 points for a standard room, climbing in the winter and spring peaks. Hilton prices awards by demand, so the points number tracks the cash rate.
On a $180 summer night, paying 62,000 points is about 0.29 cents per point, well below Hilton’s value, so pay cash. On a $480 spring night, 92,000 points clears about 0.52 cents per point, a solid redemption.
- Summer nights: pay cash. The low-season rate is cheap enough that points are better saved for the winter peak.
- Fall shoulder dates: a toss-up. Compare the points cost to the cash rate and book whichever clears 0.5 cents per point or better.
- Winter, spring, and event weekends: use points or the Aspire certificate.
Diamond benefits, specifically
Diamond members get the daily food and beverage credit, which works at CALA and the Bodega. With breakfast charged separately, the credit is the on-site benefit worth having. Across 2 nights it buys a light breakfast for 2.
Space-available upgrades at Senna House Scottsdale tend to move you to a higher floor or a suite. On a quiet summer weekday your odds are good; in the winter and spring peak the best rooms sell out, so expect less movement.
There is no executive lounge. The food and beverage credit, the rooftop pool, and the Sonora Swim Club are the substitute, and Old Town’s restaurants are a short walk for anything else.
Gold carries the same daily credit and the same Wi-Fi, so Diamond adds less at this property than at one with a club lounge. Diamond mainly buys you better upgrade chances, usually a higher floor or a suite.
Per-stay value math
Here is the per-stay math for a typical 2-night Senna House Scottsdale booking on a fall shoulder weekend, paying cash as a Diamond member.
- 2 nights priced near $300 each: $600 before tax.
- Arizona and Scottsdale lodging taxes add roughly 14 percent: about $84.
- Valet or self-parking at roughly $35 a night: $70 for 2 nights.
- Daily food and beverage credit as a Diamond member: $15 per person a night, so $60 for 2 guests across 2 nights at CALA.
- All in, expect roughly $755 for 2 nights with parking, before food beyond the credit.
Best and worst months to book Senna House Scottsdale
Best months to book Senna House Scottsdale on cash are the summer weeks, June through August, when the desert heat softens rates to their annual low. The rooftop pool helps, but plan for triple-digit temperatures.
Fall shoulder weeks are the comfortable middle, with cooling weather and rates around $220 to $340. These are good weeks to spend a free night certificate before the winter peak arrives.
Worst months for value are the winter and spring high season and any big event weekend. Rates run $350 to $550 or more and the best rooms go first, so book those dates well ahead or plan to use points.
Late spring after the event season, and early fall, cost less in Scottsdale; it is warm but bearable. That window is the best time to spend a free night certificate at Senna House Scottsdale.
Trade-offs

Scottsdale summers are extreme, with triple-digit heat from June through August. That is why summer is the value season, but it limits daytime activities to early mornings, the pool, and air-conditioned Old Town.
It is a boutique hotel, so it can sell out fast during spring training and big events, and the best rooms go early. If your dates land on a peak weekend, book well ahead or expect high rates.
Old Town nightlife is lively and loud on weekends, which is the appeal for some and a drawback for light sleepers. Ask for a higher floor away from the street if you want quiet.
Parking is paid, and a car is useful for the wider Phoenix area even though Old Town is walkable. Budget for parking over a multi-night stay.
A word about what you will pay. In the winter and spring peak, Senna House Scottsdale commands resort-level prices, so the value is best in summer and the shoulder when rates ease.
3 Curio alternatives if Senna House Scottsdale is sold out
- Boulders Resort Scottsdale. A larger desert Curio resort in the Scottsdale area, a good fallback if Senna House Scottsdale is sold out and you want a full resort.
- The Art Hotel Denver. A modern lifestyle Curio in another Western city, similar in feel for a design-forward trip.
- Other Hiltons around Scottsdale. If Senna House Scottsdale is full on a peak weekend, a larger Scottsdale Hilton trades the Old Town walkability for easier availability.

FAQ
Is Senna House Scottsdale pet friendly?
Yes. Senna House Scottsdale welcomes dogs for a fee, so confirm the current amount and any weight limit when you book. Service animals as defined by the ADA are always welcome and are exempt from any fee. Old Town’s sidewalks give dogs room to walk in the cooler hours.
What fees does Senna House Scottsdale charge beyond the room rate?
The main add-on is parking at roughly $35 a night. Wi-Fi is free for Hilton Honors members. Arizona and Scottsdale lodging taxes add roughly 14 percent, and breakfast is not bundled into the rate.
How close is Senna House Scottsdale to Old Town and spring training?
It sits in central Old Town, walkable to the arts district, restaurants, and bars, and a short distance from Scottsdale Stadium, the spring training ballpark that fills the town in March. That location is the reason to book it.
Is Senna House Scottsdale worth it for the rooftop pool?
Yes, if a walkable Old Town base with a pool is what you want. The new build gives you current rooms, the Sonora Swim Club rooftop is the signature scene, and the location puts Old Town a short walk away. The trade-off is steep winter rates and extreme summer heat.
When is the best time to book Senna House Scottsdale?
For the lowest cash rates, book a summer week from June to August and accept the heat. For the best mix of weather and value, target the fall shoulder and use a free night certificate. Avoid the winter and spring peak and spring training weekends unless you are paying with points, when the award rate stretches a Hilton balance furthest against the season’s higher cash prices.
