My rating: 4.2 / 5

Short version: My night in a Capitol suite came to $657.02, after a $30 Diamond food and beverage credit and a $20 amenity allowance came off the folio.

Best for: A night in the Golden Triangle Arts District, 0.3 miles from City Center.

Watch for: Valet-only parking, $62.50 on my folio, and 15.75% tax on the room.

Stayed: June 2026

My wife and I spent 1 night at The Art Hotel Denver in June 2026. I booked a 1 King Bed Capitol Suite on the Honors Discount rate at $450.26.

Room taxes came to $70.91: $48.40 city tax, $18.01 state tax and a $4.50 tourism improvement district charge. That matches the 15.75% tax rate on my confirmation.

The urban amenity fee was $20 plus $3.15 tax, and a $20 allowance came straight back off the folio. Valet parking was $62.50. My confirmation had listed valet at $59.

The restaurant shows 1 charge of $100.20. A Hilton Honors daily food and beverage credit of $30 posted against it, the only Diamond benefit on the folio.

Folio line Amount
Room, 1 night $450.26
City tax $48.40
State tax $18.01
Tourism improvement district $4.50
Urban amenity fee $20.00 plus $3.15 tax
Amenity allowance -$20.00
Valet parking $62.50
Restaurant $100.20
Hilton Honors food and beverage credit -$30.00
Total $657.02

Nothing in my records covers the suite, service or the food, so this review leaves those out.

Book it if

  • You hold Diamond status and plan to eat on site. My $30 credit posted against the restaurant bill.
  • You want a suite downtown at a weekend price. A mountain view king suite was $304 on the sample Saturday.
  • You’re bringing a dog up to 60 pounds.

Skip it if

  • You want to park your own car. Valet is the only option.
  • You want to walk to Coors Field or Union Station. Hilton puts both more than 1.5 miles away.
  • You compare hotels on the room rate alone. Tax adds 15.75%, and parking ran $62.50 on my folio.

How I rated it

4.2 out of 5, scored with the method on my rating page and only the facts above.

  • Points value: fair. The entry king returned 0.37 to 0.55 cents per point on the sample nights.
  • Diamond benefits: strong on this stay. A $30 food and beverage credit posted, and the $20 amenity fee came back as an allowance.
  • Location: good for the arts district and City Center, 0.3 miles away. Stadiums and Union Station are 1.6 to 2.7 miles out.
  • Cost beyond the room: the weak spot. Valet is the only parking, and tax runs 15.75%.
  • Room condition: my records don’t cover the suite, so it doesn’t move the score.
