My stay
My wife and I spent 2 nights at Hampton Inn Savannah Historic District in October 2025, a Saturday night and a Sunday night. It’s a Hampton by Hilton on East Bay Street, next to River Street.
I booked a king room with a river view on a 2X Points package. The rate was $376.56 for the Saturday and $220.59 for the Sunday, $597.15 for the room.
Taxes and fees came to $101.57, about 17% of the room rate:
- City tax at 8%: $30.12 and $17.65
- State tax at 7%: $26.36 and $15.44
- State hotel-motel fee: $5.00 a night
- City occupancy fee: $1.00 a night
The folio has 1 parking charge, labeled Diamond Parking, for $38.00 over the 2 nights. My confirmation had listed valet at $51.80 a night. No food or resort charges posted.
| Folio line | Saturday | Sunday |
|---|---|---|
| Room, river view king | $376.56 | $220.59 |
| Taxes and fees | $62.48 | $39.09 |
| Diamond Parking, 1 charge | $38.00 | |
| Total | $736.72 | |

Points or cash on 2 sample nights
Prices on hilton.com on October 14, 2026, for 1 night with 2 adults, on the flexible rate before tax. Cents per point is the cash rate divided by the points price.
| Night | Room | Points | Cash | Cents per point |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wed, Nov 18, 2026 | 1 King Bed | 66,000 | $189 | 0.29 |
| Wed, Nov 18, 2026 | 2 Queen Beds, River View | 90,000 | $204 | 0.23 |
| Sat, Nov 21, 2026 | 1 King Bed | 75,000 | $297 | 0.40 |
| Sat, Nov 21, 2026 | 1 King Bed, River View | 142,000 | $322 | 0.23 |
A standard king on the Saturday returned 0.40 cents per point, the best of the 4. River view rooms returned 0.23 on both nights, so I’d book the river view with cash, the way I did.
Book it if

- You want breakfast included.
- You’re staying on a Saturday and using points for a standard king, at 0.40 cents per point on the sample night.
Skip it if

How I rated it
3.9 out of 5, scored with the method on my rating page and only the facts above.
- Points value: fair for a standard king on the Saturday at 0.40 cents per point, weak midweek at 0.29 and weak for river views at 0.23.
- Diamond benefits: breakfast is free for every guest. My parking line was labeled Diamond Parking, at $38 for the stay.
- Location: strong, next to River Street and 1 block from the riverfront.
- Cost beyond the room: taxes and fees of about 17%, and valet-only parking at $48 a day today.
- Room condition: my records don’t cover the room, so it doesn’t move the score.
