Stayed: May 2024 (2 stays)

My stay

My wife and I stayed at Hampton Inn Boston Seaport District twice in May 2024, 1 night each time. It’s a Hampton by Hilton on Summer Street, in the Seaport next to the cruise terminal.

The first stay was a cash night. I booked a king room with a water view on the Hilton Honors Discount rate at $308.79 for 2 adults. 4 taxes posted on the room: $17.60 state occupancy, $20.07 city occupancy, $8.49 convention center and $4.63 tourism assessment. That’s $50.79, or 16.4% of the rate.

The second stay was an award night: a king room as a Standard Room Reward at 70,000 points, also for 2 adults.

Both times the hotel issued 3 room folios under my name, so the figures below are per room. Valet parking posted at $60 on 1 folio each stay. On the cash stay, a $12 shop charge posted on another.

Stay Room Rate Tax Valet
May 2024, 1 night 1 King Bed, Water View $308.79, Honors Discount $50.79 $60
May 2024, 1 night 1 King Bed 70,000 points, Standard Room Reward None $60

The cash night came to $359.58 for the room with tax, and $419.58 with valet. The award night cost 70,000 points and $60 for the car.

Points or cash on 2 sample nights

Prices on hilton.com on October 14, 2026, for 1 night with 2 adults, on the flexible rate before tax. Cents per point is the cash rate divided by the points price.

Night Room Points Cash Cents per point
Wed, Nov 18, 2026 1 King Bed 140,000 $917 0.66
Sat, Nov 21, 2026 1 King Bed 66,000 $192 0.29
Sat, Nov 21, 2026 1 King Bed, Water View 111,000 $223 0.20

The Wednesday priced a standard king at $917 or 140,000 points, so points returned 0.66 cents each. The Saturday king was $192 or 66,000 points, 4,000 points fewer than my award night in 2024. At 0.29 cents per point, paying cash saves the points for a pricier night.
