Black Fox Lodge Pigeon Forge review: an award night, then a 3-night corner suite

October 14, 2026 · · Hotel reviews and guides

Last updated October 14, 2026

My rating: 4.1 / 5

Short version: An award night in a river view balcony room cost 60,000 points and nothing in cash, and 3 nights in a corner suite cost $1,190.03, with free parking and no resort charge on either stay.

Best for: Pigeon Forge trips by car, across from the LeConte Center.

Watch for: Saturday availability. On my sample Saturday, only the corner suite was left, at 202,000 points or $524.

Stayed: October and December 2023

My stay

My wife and I stayed at Black Fox Lodge Pigeon Forge twice in 2023. It’s part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge.

Month Nights Room Rate
October 2023 1 2 queen beds, river view, balcony 60,000 points (Standard Room Reward)
December 2023 3 2-queen corner suite, balcony, river view $304.00 to $394.27 a night (Semi-Flex)

October: 1 award night

The October night cost 60,000 points. The only charge on the folio is $3.50 at the pantry, and a Diamond food and beverage credit of $3.50 cleared it. I paid nothing in cash.

December: 3 nights in a corner suite

In December we came back for 3 nights in a corner suite with 2 queen beds, a balcony and a river view. I booked the Hilton Honors Semi-Flex rate, which priced each night differently: $327.03, $304.00 and $394.27, or $1,025.30 for the room.

Tax was 12.25%: 9.75% sales tax and 2.5% room occupancy tax, $125.61 over 3 nights.

Food on the folio came to $59.12 before credits:

  • Breakfast at the Fox Den Bar, $33.12 with tax, offset by a $30.00 daily food and beverage credit.
  • 3 pantry charges of $5.00, $11.00 and $10.00, offset by a $10.00 credit.

The folio also has a $20.00 tip line at the Fox Den Bar. No parking or resort charge posted.

December folio line Amount
Room, 3 nights $1,025.30
Sales and occupancy tax $125.61
Fox Den Bar breakfast with tax $33.12
Fox Den Bar tip $20.00
Pantry $26.00
Diamond food and beverage credits −$40.00
Parking and resort charge None
Total $1,190.03

That is $396.68 a night for the suite with everything in.

The hotel today

Checked October 14, 2026, on hilton.com. Anything that changed since my stays is marked.

Points or cash on 2 sample nights

Prices on hilton.com on October 14, 2026, for 1 night with 2 adults, on the flexible rate before tax. Cents per point is the cash rate divided by the points price.

Night Room Points Cash Cents per point
Wed, Nov 18, 2026 2 Queen Beds, River View and Balcony 55,000 $209 0.38
Wed, Nov 18, 2026 2 Queen Corner Suite, Balcony 87,000 $224 0.26
Sat, Nov 21, 2026 2 Queen Corner Suite, Balcony 202,000 $524 0.26

My October room type priced at 55,000 points on the Wednesday, 5,000 under the 60,000 I paid. The corner suite was the only room left on the Saturday. It returned 0.26 cents per point on both nights, so I’d pay cash for the suite and use points for the standard room.

How I rated it

4.1 out of 5, scored with the method on my rating page and only the facts above.

  • Points value: fair for the standard room at 0.38 cents per point, weak for the suite at 0.26.
  • Diamond benefits: posted on both stays: $3.50 in October and $40.00 in December.
  • Location: good for Pigeon Forge, across from the LeConte Center and 3.5 miles from Dollywood.
  • Cost beyond the room: low. Free parking, and no resort charge on either folio.
  • Room condition: my records don’t cover the rooms, so it doesn’t move the score.

I have stayed at more than 50 Hilton properties, from Home2 Suites and Tru hotels to Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas. I pay for my own stays. Guides to hotels I haven’t stayed at say so in their first line, and I say when a hotel isn’t worth the points. How I work.
