My stay
My wife and I have stayed at The Charter Hotel Seattle twice, 1 night each, in August 2022 and August 2026. It’s a Curio Collection by Hilton hotel on 2nd Avenue, 1 block from Pike Place Market.
| Stay | Room | Rate | Cash paid |
|---|---|---|---|
| August 2022, 1 night | 1 King Bed, City View | 80,000 points, Standard Room Reward | $9.70 |
| August 2026, 1 night | 1 King 1-Bedroom Suite, Water View | $520.20, Honors Semi-Flex | $707.76 |
August 2022: an award king
I booked a king room with a city view as a Standard Room Reward at 80,000 points. The confirmation listed valet at $60 and an urban destination charge of $25. Neither posted on the folio.
1 charge posted: $39.70 at the Fog Room. A $30.00 Hilton Honors food and beverage credit took it down to $9.70.
August 2026: a water view suite
I booked a 1-bedroom king suite with a water view on the Honors Semi-Flex rate at $520.20. 3 taxes posted on the room: $45.26 hotel sales tax, $36.41 occupancy tax and $11.96 for the Seattle Tourism Improvement Area. That’s $93.63, or 18% of the rate.
The destination charge posted at $25.00 plus $3.93 in tax, and valet at $65.00. A $14.47 market purchase plus $1.53 in tax was cleared by a $16.00 Hilton Honors food and beverage credit.
| Folio line, 2026 | Amount |
|---|---|
| Room, water view suite | $520.20 |
| Room taxes | $93.63 |
| Destination charge with tax | $28.93 |
| Valet parking | $65.00 |
| Market with tax | $16.00 |
| Hilton Honors food and beverage credit | −$16.00 |
| Total | $707.76 |
The destination charge and valet added $93.93 to the room, 18% on top of the rate.

How I rated it
4.0 out of 5, scored with the method on my rating page and only the facts above.
- Points value: fair. A standard king returned 0.32 and 0.34 cents per point, and the award price hasn’t moved since 2022.
- Diamond benefits: a Hilton Honors food and beverage credit posted on both stays, $30 in 2022 and $16 in 2026.
- Location: strong. Pike Place Market is 1 block away and the aquarium 0.6 miles.
- Cost beyond the room: high on cash stays. The destination charge and valet added $93.93 to my 2026 night.
- Room condition: my records don’t cover the rooms, so it doesn’t move the score.
