My stay
My wife and I spent 3 nights at Hilton Motif Seattle in May 2025. It’s a Hilton Hotels & Resorts property on 5th Avenue downtown, listed by Hilton as Hilton Motif Seattle.
I booked a king room with a water view on the Hilton Honors Discount rate: $300.80, $288.58 and $295.16 for the 3 nights, $884.54 in all.
3 charges posted on top of the room each night: the $25.00 destination charge plus $3.93 in tax, occupancy tax and a Seattle tourism fee. Occupancy tax came to $138.88 over the stay, 15.7% of the rate, and the tourism fee to $20.35.
A late check-out add-on posted at $34.71. The Grab N Go market came to $49.11. 2 kinds of credit offset it: $15.00 from the destination charge’s food and beverage credit, and $30.00 in Hilton Honors daily food and beverage credits.

- Name and brand: Hilton Motif Seattle, a Hilton Hotels & Resorts property.
- Location: 1415 5th Avenue, off I-5. Hilton lists the city center and the Seattle Art Museum at 0.3 miles, Pike Place Market and Waterfront Park at 0.4, and the Space Needle, the Bainbridge Island ferry and the Great Wheel at 1 mile.
- Airport: Seattle-Tacoma International is 14 miles away, about 20 minutes.
- Rooms: kings, skyline view rooms, partial water view rooms, water view rooms and rooms with a sofabed.
- Dining: Frolik Kitchen and Cocktails on the rooftop, open for breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner.
- Destination charge: $25 a night, the same as on my folio. It includes premium WiFi, a $15 daily food and beverage credit, a daily Pacific Northwest beer or wine, hot cider in fall and winter or infused water, and PressReader.
- Parking: self parking $75.23 a day including tax, covered, with in and out privileges and EV charging.
- Pets: up to 2 pets of 50 pounds or less, at $75 per pet.
- WiFi: standard WiFi is free.
- Check-in and check-out: 4 pm and 11 am.

A standard king on points returned 0.44 cents per point on the Wednesday and 0.37 on the Saturday. Views cost far more in points than in cash: the partial water view king added $15 in cash and 25,000 to 46,000 points.

- You’re booking a standard king on points midweek. The sample Wednesday returned 0.44 cents per point.
- You’ll use the $15 daily credit and the daily drink in the destination charge.
- You want Pike Place Market and the art museum within half a mile.
Skip it if
- You’re driving. Self parking is $75.23 a day.
- You want a water view on points. The partial water view king ran 94,000 to 116,000 points.
