My stay
My wife and I spent 1 night at Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City in October 2022. It’s a Hilton Hotels & Resorts property next to Universal Studios Hollywood.
I booked a corner king on the executive floor, with a Universal view and a sofa bed, on the Hilton Honors Discount rate of $326.01.
The confirmation put tax at 16.23%. The folio shows it in 3 lines:
- Occupancy tax, $45.64
- City tourism tax, $6.52
- State tourism tax, $0.73
The total was $378.90. The confirmation listed valet at $48 a night, and no parking charge posted. No food, drink or resort charge posted either.

Checked October 14, 2026, on hilton.com. Anything that changed since my stay is marked.
- Location: 555 Universal Hollywood Drive, adjacent to Universal Studios Hollywood at 0.01 miles, with a free shuttle. CityWalk and the Metro station are half a mile away. Hilton lists Hollywood at 1 mile, the Hollywood Bowl at 3, the Dolby Theatre at 4, the Los Angeles Zoo at 6 and Griffith Observatory at 7.
- Rooms: kings, rooms with 2 double or 2 queen beds, executive floor rooms, and corner kings with a Universal view and a sofa bed.
- Pool and fitness: an outdoor pool and a fitness center.
- Dining: a California cuisine restaurant, the Pool Bar & Grill, Coffee Corner and the Atrium Lounge. Breakfast costs extra.
- Daily mandatory charge: it covers the Los Angeles Hotel Worker Protection Ordinance Fee, and the property page doesn’t state the amount. Changed since my stay: my 2022 folio had no such charge.
- Parking: self parking $53 a day and valet $63. Changed since my stay: my 2022 confirmation listed valet at $48.
- Pets: up to 2 pets, for a $75 fee per room, charged once.
- WiFi: free for Hilton Honors members who book direct, $12.95 for other guests.
- Check-in and check-out: 4 pm and 11 am. The smoking fee is up to $300.

The standard rooms returned 0.41 and 0.45 cents per point, the best of these 4. My room type, the corner king, returned 0.31 to 0.32, so I’d book it with cash.

- You’re spending a day at Universal Studios Hollywood. The hotel is next door, with a free shuttle.
- You want to reach the Metro on foot. The station is half a mile away.
- You’re booking a standard room on points, at 0.41 to 0.45 cents per point on the sample nights.
Skip it if
- You’re driving and parking overnight. Self parking is $53 and valet $63.
- You want the corner king on points. It ran 125,000 to 130,000 points on the sample nights.
